Dum, de, dum, dum!
A burgeoning interest in literacy is great. It can manifest itself in a 3-year-old carefully perusing every Richard Scarry book in the house — after frantically begging Mommy to run upstairs for “the firefighter book! The firefighter book!”
And it also can include this demonstration, an unpaid op-ed from The Elder, who’s closer to 6 and experimenting with spelling. For the record, he spelled The Younger’s name just right:
It will be interesting to see where this goes. And, you know, how his spelling evolves. (It’s funny because it’s wrong!)–Jillian O’Connor

But has he found Goldbug on every page yet?!
Sorry, missed this comment somehow! He hasn’t found all the Goldbugs yet, but he’s working on it … I’ve noticed he is quite perplexed and annoyed by the Greenbug barbecue in “Richard Scarry’s Busiest Firefighters Ever”: “Bugs don’t have barbecues!”
